    Job Outlook, 2021-31: 27% (Much faster than average) The continuous growth and use of solar PV systems are likely to produce jobs for installation and maintenance. As the cost of PV panels and shingles continues to fall, more families are likely to benefit from solar systems, increasing demand for professionals who install and maintain them. Solar photovoltaic installers’ employment is expected to expand 27 percent between 2021 and 2031, substantially faster than the average for all occupations. Over the next decade, around 2,500 job vacancies for solar photovoltaic installation are expected.

    Design and Install Grid Connected Solar PV Systems Course

    5 Days face to face online (WEBINAR OPTION AVAILABLE)Self-paced study via online learning and assessment which can be commenced at any time after your enrolment is accepted. Plus 5 days face to face training. Total online component is up to 50 hours. Students with prior skills and experience in the field will be able to progress through the course more quickly.

  • All learning and assessment must be completed within 8 weeks of your last face-to-face class. You can apply for CEC Accreditation once you have completed your training successfully and we have issued your qualification parchment – this usually occurs within 7 days of passing all elements of your course.
  • Prerequisites:

    Will completion of the Solar PV Installation Course and /or Design Course allow me to apply for CEC accreditation as a solar installer / solar designer?

    Yes, after the completion of this course (Design and/ or Install Grid Connected Solar PV Systems), you may apply for a provisional accreditation as a Solar PV Installer with the Clean Energy Council (CEC) here.

    To become a fully qualified Solar PV Installer or Designer you will need to: complete Solar Training Centre’s course in Design and/or Install Grid Connected Solar PV Systems. apply for provisional accreditation with CEC. pass the CEC’s online assessment and also submit and pass a CEC install case study. Solar Training Centre is not involved in this CEC process – contact the CEC for more information.

    Solar Installation/Design Course Information

    Licensed Electricians, Electrical Apprentices (with conditions) and Electrical/ Electronic Engineers can gain entry to provisional Grid-Connect Design and /or Install PV Systems Accreditation with the Clean Energy Council (CEC) by successfully completing this short course (additional CEC accreditation requirements apply – see www.cleanenergycouncil.com.au).

    Our Grid Connected Solar PV Design /Install Course involves these units of study:

    UEERE0022 Solve basic problems in photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems

    UEERE0016 Install, configure, and commission LV grid-connected photovoltaic power systems

    UEERE0011 Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems

    Students wishing to complete only Design Grid Connected PV Systems will study UEERE0022 and UEERE0011

    Students wishing to complete only Install Grid Connected PV Systems will study UEERE0022 and UEERE0016 only

    Award: Statement of Attainment for successfully completed units of study.

    Note: Electrical and Electronic Engineers can complete our Design Only course and receive a Certificate of Completion which is accepted by the Clean Energy Council for an application as a provisional CEC Accredited Designer. Apprentices who complete Design and Install studies can apply for provisional accreditation in Design, but must have an unrestricted electrical license to be eligible to apply for Install accreditation.
