    So many people ask this question, how reliable is the yellow box, so with my knowledge so far with solar system setup, I have decided to put the difference to you so you can make your choice properly to avoid regrets letter in the future.

    Back up time varies actually. Say for instance, you have a total load of 250W at any point in time. And you have a battery capacity of say 400ah (two 200ah battery connected in parallel). Your battery charge is rated at 4800wh. (I.e 12 400). At 50% battery discharge, you’ll have 2400/250 = 9.6hrs. At 75% battery discharge, you’ll have 3600÷250 = 14.4 hrs. Give or take. Optimally, 50% battery discharge is recommended. It’ll help maximize the battery charge cycles over a longer time period. I hope this helps. Delete

    I knew there was a catch with this Lumos thing. Just didn’t sit right with me. I live with a couple friends and we talked about getting one but I had a hunch it’ll be better to build one cus I remember talking to some experts about it and the price they gave really made the lumos thing not add up. So I visited a family I know has the Lumos and they were almost crying when they told me it doesn’t power anything jare, just some bulbs and the phones, the man got it so they could watch TV and feel like there’s electricity(you know that feeling) but as far as I could see, it was no different from charging a couple lamps for night use Rubbish. You know when big companies put their hands in projects like this and smaller guys tell you don’t do it it always sounds like hate but the truth is, they know where the trade off is. Why would I spend 4500 per month to power some bulbs, I’d rather buy some proper power credit and wait for PHCN to smile on me through the month or I’ll just build one of these. I better stop typing now, I’m beginning to get upset with this thing cus I’m usually the first guy to preach sustainable energy to people, now people laugh at me when I say Lumos. Suffer!     It means that when your battery power is at 50%, you charge the systems until full again, before continued usage. In lay mans terms, your battery mustn’t be below 50%. Delete
